Position Overview

The Flexo Press Operator prepares, proofs and prints files/images via the Hybrid Flexo print process.

 

SHIFT:  Sunday - Thursday, 9:45pm - 6:15am

Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Preps files per Imagine standards and procedures to ensure quality, efficient reproduction.
  • Color corrects images as required per direction, substrate and/or profile, per Imagine procedures.
  • Press proofs images per Imagine standards and workflow.
  • Ability to read and understand Job Tickets, Spec Sheets, and work Instructions.
  • Operates equipment in accordance with manufacturer and Imagine standards on various substrates, within quality expectations, in a safe manner.
  • Accounts for all labor and material consumed on job-by-job basis
  • Perform routine functions to insure optimal printing conditions. (i.e., Change empty ink, bi-hourly maintenance etc.)
  • Monitors output quality through course of a run.
  • Maintains a clean work area.
  • Assists other print operators in material handling as necessary.
  • Works with scheduling and project managers to ensure color quality meets customer expectations.
  • Performs various jobs within the department as directed or appropriate.
  • Performs printer physical maintenance as necessary per manufacturer warranty information
  • Establishes, monitors and adjusts profiles for digital machines, customer specific calibration and substrates.
  • Assists in finishing of product as directed.
  • Recommends plans for production improvements.
  • Recommends equipment repairs, parts and supplies to management.
  • Works overtime when needed.
  • Performs other tasks as required. 

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years previous Indigo or Domino Press Operator experience

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understands densitometers and spectrophotometers.
  • Basic mathematics skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers and fractions.
  • Ability to communicate/understand written as well as oral instructions.
  • Ability to work on complex jobs in a fast paced, quality focused environment.
  • Ability to use problem-solving skills in producing jobs effectively.
  • Reliability through attendance, punctuality, and attention to workstation.
  • Knowledge of pressure sensitive, unsupported film, tag stocks and paper types.
  • Knowledge and ability to maintain UV, Water, solvent based inks, and coatings.
  • The ability to decipher color and tone differences visually.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs. 
  • Ability to visually inspect all work for defects and distinguish colors. 
  • Frequent reaching, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and stooping. 
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive work. 
  • Frequent walking and standing.

Pay Range

USD $25.00 - USD $35.00 /Yr.

Pay Statement

The national pay range for this role is listed above. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
